Tammy Worrell is a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and has been practicing in the area of women’s health for 20 years. She graduated from UNC-Greensboro with a nursing degree in 1987. After several years of practicing as an RN in the women’s health care field, she attended graduate school at the University of Pennsylvania and finished with an NP degree in 2003. She has practiced in both the public health sector as well as private practice. Her specialties are hormone balancing and replacement, breast health, and routine gynecology. Her holistic care of women by using both an eastern and western philosophy, makes her unique to the women’s health care industry. It is her belief that to treat one aspect of the body, you have to look at the entire body as a whole. While she uses pharmaceuticals in her practice, she feels it is important to focus on natural alternatives to therapy as often as possible. Treating the underlying cause of a disorder is more important than placing a band-aid on a symptom.
